1. Cabrio Meeting in France, Corsica
1999 marks CABRIO MEETING's first… meeting!
On April 30, 30 crews from France and Italy met in the Italian port of Leghorn to embark upon a fantastic weekend on the island of Corsica.
We took a fast boat to Bastia, where we arrived in early afternoon. From there we took a free drive across the island and met back up again at Porticcio (Ajaccio). We ate a fine dinner of local specialties in one of the best known restaurants in Ajaccio. Plans for the next day were discussed over the course of the evening.
Early next morning we headed up the coast road toward Porto, where a succulent cocktail was had, and then proceeded to Galeria for lunch.
Free time in the afternoon - some participants visited the city of Calvi, others went for the first swim of the season in the pool at the Hotel Napoleon in nearby Ile Rousse.
Gala dinner that evening, with live local music and the first of many souvenir gift ceremonies.
On Sunday morning a part of the group remained to enjoy 3 more days of vacation, the rest check out and drive to Bastia for the ferry back to Italy - crossing the Agriates Desert on the way to the port.
